Choosing Brow Lift

About the Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)

The brow is the bony socket where the eyeball is located. It is positioned at the same level as the orbital rim. As people become older, their brow skin can sag. When this area sags, it can make the eyes look smaller or appear “angry”.

With a brow lift, the area from the eyebrows to the hairline is lifted. This reveals the eyes and lifts the forehead, which can significantly change the appearance of the face.

It’s possible to see what a brow lift may look like by standing in front of a mirror and slightly lifting the eyebrows with the fingers. Do this without changing facial expression for a more realistic sneak peek of what this procedure can do. It is a good idea to look at before and after pictures online as well.

About the Eye Lift

The eye lift procedure is called a blepharoplasty. It removes loose skin from the upper and/or lower eyelids to reveal tighter, more youthful eyes. Many of our patients in Long Island and NYC report higher self-confidence due to their new look.

As people age, the eyelids can sag, sometimes severely. In extreme cases, the skin can weigh so heavily on the upper eyelids that it hides the area, inhibiting eyesight. With an eyelift, a plastic surgeon removes and lifts the skin from the upper and lower eyelids. This not only brings back a more youthful appearance, but also helps some people see better.

What’s Best for You?

It can be difficult to decide whether you need a brow lift or eye lift. Usually, if you do not see an improvement by pushing your eyebrows up, an eyelift may be ideal.

The best way to know for sure which one is best is to schedule a free consultation. By meeting with our experienced team of facial plastic surgeons, we can examine the area and provide advice on what is needed to improve eyesight and look younger.

Contact us today at our Commack, Long Island or Manhattan NYC office. We have consultations available Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and on Saturdays.
