Deciding whether rhinoplasty is the right surgery for you is a major step and even a dream for some people. What happens when that dream becomes a nightmare because a surgeon does not give you the optimal results you were promised?
This is where revision rhinoplasty comes in to play.
You may have come across the term “revision rhinoplasty” or “secondary rhinoplasty” in your search for help. What exactly does that mean, though? And can you really trust another plastic surgeon after what you have already experienced?
We can assure you that you will be in good hands in our nose job New York surgical centers should you decide to correct aspects of the previous nose job you had.
Revision Rhinoplasty in our Centers
You left your first nose job surgery feeling excited and renewed, but after weeks of healing, and after the bandages came off and swelling had gone down, a new feeling came about…disbelief. What you see in the mirror was not near as close to what was promised and there are just too many aspects of your new nose that you’d like to change.
It may even be wearing on your well-being. You knew going in that you couldn’t expect a perfect nose, but this is different. Something must be done.
How Revision Rhinoplasty Works
The way a revision rhinoplasty surgery works is that the new surgeon will tenderly work with and around the past work done. If too much was taken off of your original nose, a cartilage graft may be used by bringing cartilage from other areas of the body to refill the area. Each case is different, however, and will be treated with care and knowledge by the surgeon and our staff.
What to Expect
Since your first results were far from what you expected, your heart and mind may be wary about going into it a second time. While the nose will generally be able to be repaired on the second try, it may not be up to par with your very first promised result, but our Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Team are artists and sculptors; they will help you love your nose again.
Keep in mind, however, that our Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Team will be working with an already surgically-changed nose and things may look different than what you first expected. It is a journey that is less than ideal, but it can be done and you shouldn’t lose hope!
I Want This to Be the Last Time
It’s scary, and maybe a little annoying, to have to go through this process all over again.
