  1. How does VelaShape™ work?

VelaShape™ uses elos™ technology; heat, suction, massage, and light which precisely targets fat tissues within the treatment area. Treatment improves the texture of skin while also reducing the appearance of cellulite. This treatment is a less invasive substitute to liposuction because it improves the silhouette and appearance of the treated area with zero incisions.

  1. What body areas can be treated with VelaShape™?

VelaShape™ can be performed on several different parts of the body in our New York Cellulite Treatment offices in Long Island and NYC. Depending on whether the patient is looking to reduce inches or improve skin texture, our surgeon will use either the VSmooth or VContour applicators on the VelaShape™ device. These applicators are designed for large and small body areas so that cellulite can be safely and effectively treated on the buttocks, thighs, calves, arms, abdomen, and face.

  1. How quickly will results be visible?

As you continue your session of VelaShape™ treatments, you will gradually begin to notice the surface of your skin becoming smoother, firmer and tighter. Results will continue to improve as cellulite treatment progresses, and a substantial improvement will be noticed in the overall appearance of the skin and the contour of the area that underwent treatment. Final results are generally visible about 6 to 8 weeks after the final treatment is completed.

  1. How effective is our VelaShape™ procedure in reducing circumference?

Patients report an average reduction in circumference of about one inch after completing VelaShape™ cellulite treatment. In clinical trials, the range of Circumferential Reduction was between 0.5-3 inches.

  1. How can I improve and maintain the results of my VelaShape procedure?

Since VelaShape™ offers short-term cellulite reduction, patients will need to return for regular treatment sessions to keep their smooth results from treatment. You can help prolong these results by maintaining a healthy lifestyle which includes a well-balanced diet and regular physical activity. We can help you book your future treatments.

  1. Is the VelaShape™ cellulite procedure safe?

VelaShape™ is FDA approved for the treatment of cellulite and circumference reduction and can be safely used on all skin types and colors. There are no long-term complications associated with this cellulite treatment.

  1. Is this treatment right for me?

Most patients are seeking a smoother contour as well as the reduction of cellulite in one or more areas of the body. Thus, VelaShape™ cellulite treatment is right for patients like these. After performing a physical exam and reviewing your medical history, our NY cosmetic surgeon will decide if this procedure is right for you. Patients who are pregnant or who have a hernia should not undergo the procedure until their condition is resolved.

  1. What does the VelaShape™ procedure feel like?

Most of our patients describe the VelaShape™ procedure as pleasant, and report experiencing a warm, massaging sensation followed by a deep warming sensation beneath their skin. The sensation of heat may last for a few hours after treatment.

  1. Does the cellulite treatment hurt?

Most of our VelaShape NYC & Long Island patients find it very comfortable – like a warm, deep-tissue massage. The cellulite treatment is designed to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure. Since there are no incisions, it is painless for nearly all of our patients.

  1. How will I feel after the VelaShape procedure?

After the procedure, your skin may feel tighter and appear reddened or flushed from the heat for several hours. You may continue to experience a deep heated sensation for several hours after the cellulite treatment.

  1. What are the VelaShape advantages compared to other methods?

The advantage is the technology. Today, there are no other methods available that include a combination of Vacuum, Infrared Light, Bi-Polar RF and Mechanical Massage the way that VelaShape works. Further, no other method can offer the assurance of clinically proven results, safety, and efficacy in only four treatments! VelaShape is the only non-surgical medical device approved by the FDA for circumferential reduction of cellulite.

We offer our New York Cellulite Treatment patients an effective, non-invasive procedure with minimal risks and no downtime. Unlike liposuction and other procedures that remove fat, VelaShape does not require anesthesia, injections or the risk of infection. Instead, it offers the ability to improve the appearance of cellulite and to lessen the circumference of body areas, resulting in smoother skin and a slimmer profile.
